WE MATE WE DONT NEED HIM.FUNGULO
Born, raised, turned his back… Flog
Fair enough on his decision.
But, don't ask him again, no second chances when Italy doesn't come calling.
Cheers
No player can represent the national team purely because it makes 'business sense' in the long run. What does their heart say?
Christian Vieri made the right decision in deciding to play for Italy because his heart belonged to Italy. I don't blame the guy because he played with passion and had a desire to give back. No point in playing for the Socceroos if you don't have that.
In the year 2022, every player who decides to represent the Socceroos should realise they don't just play for Australia, their true motivation and desire should be playing for the community of people who love the game in Australia. Because the game deserves 'Respect'.
I wouldn’t ask him again when Italy don’t want him in the future
hope we see him at the world cup this year for italy.
Good luck to him and Italy at the world cup… Oh wait. What a f***ing idiot. Snaking the country that gave him and his family everything from the moment he was born to a national team who are inferior to Australia at the moment
Get your facts straight!
Arnold called him up the last minute, that should be the headline..
All these people commenting negative have no clue and would be doing the same as Volpato, when you are training with Roma's first team two years now, being rejected by Australia and overlooked untill now,and better than most our squad..
Well done Volpato,respect!!
People understand that his career will end if he plays for Australia you think this is the first time a player has rejected the nationl team. Christian vieri did exactly the same thing he thought of his future and compared to the players he played with like baggio & totti & not forget a team that has culture, respect but mainly they have a style of play. If volpato comes to play for Australia he will be like every other player that later will be downgraded to play in the A league. Just understand we do not have a style of play we dont have respect from other countries we are going into this world cup as a joke, look at the coaches we’ve had in the past years the only was hiddink now we have gone back to the 80s with 1,2 touch long ball & a copy cat english football style of play which is horrible lol and a australian coach yes you arnie who got his licesne from a kelloggs cereal box. Unfortunately our football is never going to grow volpato mad respect for you to wait until deadline & the love and passion you have for your country not being in the world cup you still choose them you will have a brilliant future & hope to see you in the next world cup.
Totally understood his decision
let's clear a couple of things…. Volpato was rejected by Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers, and a few months ago was also rejected by Graham Arnold that said: "He is not mature enough for the Socceroos at this stage…". Well, what is Volpato supposed to do? Even if he will never get a call from the Italian National Team (he already played with the U20 Italian National Team), playing for Australia could jeopardize his career with AS Roma (he renewed his contract with them until 2026 just last week). So, before you all start attacking an 18 year old kid, why don't you ask yourself why this kid was rejected by all these "supposedly" football experts in Australia?
oh well, id probably chose Italy as well we are shocking these days
God compare the 2006 team to now. YIKES.
Football is broken in Australian, Just for playing fees range from 1500 to 2K a year. what a joke
yes he’s born and raised in australia but he’s an italian in the blood and heart and origin we are who we are from our grand grand grand parents not where WE were born so his decision is fine idk why everyone is pissed
