  1. As much as I like Onana as a player and as a character, if they offer stupid money we have to take it I feel, especially if Tielemans and Kamara are staying.

  2. Unless you've serious PSR issues I wouldn't, who are you going to get that's better?
I guess you could sell him for something daft like £80m, and resign Douglas-luis for £40m. I guess that'd solve the problem.

  3. Would be worried about Transfers to Saudi considering the news coming out of Welsh side The New Saints not being paid for ex-Villa youngster for Brad Young

  4. I think diaby didn’t look happy towards the latter part of the season and was happy to leave , I don’t think you can say that about onana. He seems really settled ,

  5. With Diaby going after a year. We didn’t make a big profit of him. Pretty surprised we let him go for that price.

Onana needs a big fee for us to think about selling him. Keep fit he’ll be massive for us.

Can’t Saudi teams buy Cash, Bailey & Buendia 😊😊

  6. PSR is making it impossible to compete. I mean what's the point? We build a team then replace players, not because we want to, but to stay within a set of outdated rules. They ignored inflation and the fact that certain teams got the opportunity to build a revenue stream based on rich owners.
This socialist approach has no place in football.

  7. Onana is my favourite player . I'm 59 and have not had a favourite player in years. He brings so much, especially his commardarie, with the villa fans UTV

  8. What’s the point of selling talented young players for what we paid, absolutely pointless

Even if we sign a replacement there is no guarantee it will work out.. so for me he should stay unless it’s a silly price involved

  9. No way for me. I am getting annoyed with Saudi taking our players now, they have helped too but Onana is one of our most promising players and I'd be fuming if we lost him. Really really hope this doesn't happen and hope it isn't Diaby again, there are other players I would sell first.

  10. Tempted to say "lol!" but as stated before, without CL no one is safe or beyond reach. If Saudis want to throw 100m at Onana, and we think we can retain Kamara, then bye-bye Amadou. Otherwise they can do one, and personally Im looking forward to seeing an Onana-Barrenechea double pivot next season.

  11. He has all the potential in the world but does he have the desire to make it? desire to play through the niggles, nastiness in the tackle and to take a game by the scruff of its neck, seems too nice a guy for his own good at times. I have my doubts, he wouldn't personally get in my strongest 11 or many other ppls.. therefore for a profit or even a break even on the 50m. Id have to cash in. A bit like diaby, not a flop, not a rip roaring success, just a player who came, performed well in some games and moves on.

Our only indispensable is Unai Emery.

  12. Watching the PSG match last night Luke, I was thinking, blimey, Villa beat this team! At least at our place, they looked terrified of us in parts of that match. A reminder that we have an excellent squad that fell short because of poor away performances. That tells me its more of a psychological issue rather than a technical one, also Emery's overly cautious, almost supine tactics away from VP. So is it a psychological problem of this team or this manager? We will know next season.

  13. Saudi league shouldnt be allowed to buy players until they follow the same rules as we do its a disgrace we are selling the premier league here not players

  14. No way for me. Like you said he’s always saying how he wants to improve & play w/ Emery. If it were to happen, it better bring in enough to solve close to, if not all, the PSR issues. It takes 2 to tango of course but it feels like the Saudi clubs think they’re only like 10 clubs they can shop from

  15. Having lost Diaby following a promising debut season to Saudi money, it would be devastating to lose another £50 mill signing to Saudi money two years running, can't they show interest in Coutinho or Dendonker

  16. Given we've made £206 million loss in the past 2 years I'd say we need to seriously start accepting sensible offers and given that our revenue to wages ratio has exceeded UEFAs 70% limit every year for the past 5 years we need to start clearing out our high wage earning players Luke! UTV

  17. Admit to not knowing too much about football finances but we sold Duran in January and got to the Champions league quarter finals earning an extra 100m plus and with this extra revenue we are still in trouble with PSR.

  18. I think it would a bit of waste for him to go at 23 like you said there is more to his game to develop and why not here under Emery. Congratulations to PSG they are some team but second half we really made them suffer which is credit to us as they easily dispatches Inter last night.

  19. Onana – it’s a question whether you believe he will push on season 2 at Villa or not. If not then better to see him go now whilst others are interested. It is season 2 where the pressure arrives and expectations are high. He was a big ticket signing and like many others he was too absent in some games for me. I like Onana and would really like him to stay and push on at Villa and certainly there are others I would rather see leave than O.

  20. Let’s concentrate on getting Bailey off the books, followed by Cash, Buendia and a few others – secure GK x 2 / RB / CH / LW – IF we can get Rashford then I’m sure we could get Grealish INSTEAD OF RASHFORD !!!
