First of all, Please don't try to make me feel sorry for someone who makes more money (after taxes) in one week than I do (before taxes) in a year. I know he's the captain, and probably their best player, but on this squad, that's hardly anything to brag about. He's been inconsistent, and more mouth than an on-field leader by example. He'll be 30 at the start of next season. This is clearly his last chance at a big payday, and United are years away from competing for European football let alone the top of the League. What's he got to stay for? Loyalty? 700K (a week) will go a long way towards easing any feelings he might have about leaving.. He's never going to get a better offer, and United will get a ton of money for someone at the end of the career. This just makes too much sense.
