    Morocco back training after shock win over Belgium



    The entire Moroccan squad returned to training on Monday a day after they pulled off yet another World Cup shock against Belgium’s ageing “Golden Generation”.

    The 2-0 upset left Kevin de Bruyne and the 2018 semi-finalists in peril of a group-stage exit at what is likely to be the final World Cup for a highly-talented Belgian group that haven’t managed to convert their promise into prizes.

    Morocco substitute Abdelhamid Sabiri gave his team the lead by whipping in a free-kick from a tight angle on the left in the 73rd minute that got under the body of Thibaut Courtois – for many, the best goalkeeper in the world.

    Zakaria Aboukhlal guided a shot into the roof of the net off a pass from Hakim Ziyech in stoppage time to make it 2-0 as Belgium’s defence, boasting more than 300 international appearances but anchored by two players in their mid-30s, was beaten by a speedy 22-year-old forward playing at his first World Cup.

    Morocco’s players kneeled and pressed their heads to the ground in prayer, then leapt up in celebration. Pulling himself up from the ground, Courtois just shook his head.

    A win for Morocco against Canada in their last group game on Thursday (1st December) will see them progress to the last 16.

      Let them underestimate us. That is gift to Morocco where no one expect nothing. This is the one and only changes to go semifinals as the first Arab and African nation. And why not go old the way. I we have all Arabs and African country behind us. We have to dream about it. Then work be step by step game by game. InshaAllah. Nothing is impossible it is 11 against 11.

      Its not a shock win but more like you were shocked because belgium didn't win , morocco is already a very good team don't underestimate moroccan players especially moroccans fans , and trust me not only moroccan fans have their backs but all muslims , arabs and africans are cheering for them ou DIMA MAGHRIB 🇲🇦

      Young vital boys against an old team like Belgium. Give them a rainbow t-shirt and send them home. Because even though they play in teams that are at the top, they are a shame for the Belgians-》out

      As Moroccans we knew we will win the game we got players in clubs like PSG Chelsea Bayern Seville West Ham fiorentina Whos Belgium lol 11 vs 11 the only ppl are shocked are the none Moroccans

      The real shock was when Fifa awarded Portugal a goal after a clear foul to win1-0 and the mysterious corner kick that gave Spain last minute goal when they were losing 2-1 last world cup

      Why is it a shock win ? Why is it shocking that Morocco plays better than Belgium … football is a 11 v 11 game the better wins… nothing shocking

      Morocco is an underestimated team, they have a bunch of talented players & its gonna be strange but i think they are going far in this WC because they have the profile of the dark horse team, people who say belgium was weak, you know nothing about football, anyway to aml teams… moroccan are killer be careful in next matches.
