Real fans know why Trent got booed ! He literally lied and stood back while the owners were hated on by the fans because they were led to believe they were doing nothing to get Trent a new contract.
The actual facts now coming out is that for TWO years Trent and his family bullshited them and when they finally realized he was not going to sign a contract FSG were told that Trent would not be sold and was willing to be removed from the first team but he was running his contract down no matter what.
That is how Trent repaid the City of his birth! The club that made him ! And the fans that loved him !

The moment he said he will leave for Real Madrid is when he stopped being a Liverpool player. The fans booed a Real Madrid player. So there's no issue there. Real Madrid is a shit club and we hate them. If he signed for MLS or Saudi, maybe, just maybe, it would've been a less negative reaction here. Personally, I still consider him a Liverpool legend. Michael Owen is a legend too. But it doesn't mean he didn't betray us.
