  1. The most surprising thing is not this (they said that a while ago already and also that Brandt and his dad have been searchingalready). It’s that they explicitly mention Cherki imo?

  2. Part of me wishes he could stay on reduced wages as a rotational option, but I know it probably doesnt make sense, still sucks to see him go

  3. Dont see him moving this summer. He wanna stay in germany and no one really can pay fee&salary for him. Frankfurt would be a decent fit but they have Götze. Wolfsburg more or less the only possible landing spot.

    Bremen 2026 is my guess

I don’t think Dortmund will get another chance with Cherki. Too expensive in the summer.

  5. So In my opinion Cherki is a lot smarter to work with than Brandt.

Cherki is most importantly younger, He´s more flexible, His costs will probably be less, And the form Cherki currently has is way better.

  6. It}s tough bc we obviously grow fond of players, but it’s the right decision for the club to improve. Sorry Brandt, I like you but it’snot excusable to be so inconsistent at this level…

  7. Cherki will be too expensive but if we go far in CWC and qualify for UCL, we might be able to splash the cash

  8. Cherki is in a similar ilk to Brandt really. Cherki one of the most naturally gifted players to play the game, but also mentally a problem.

  9. One good game doesn’t absolve him of years of shirking responsibility. Move him on.

  10. If true does that make a player more motivated or less motivated if they’re told this news

    Best decision for both.
Julian will never step in bigger shoes in our club. On the other hand his salary is way too high, for being a ten match joker each season.

  12. I will keep saying I think we have a very good shot at Cherki still and don’t understand all the skepticism at our ability to sign him

He needed to step up after Reus left but clearly didn’t. In Summer he’s 29 and at this point it’s better for everybody that he leaves

  14. I like this but my issue is that, there’s no way cherki stays with us for long if he ends up doing well. I can forsee us looking for another midfield maestro in a short period of time. I don’t mind Brandt leaving, but I’d keep him on lower wages if if meant that he wasn’t the center of our midfield anymore. Loyal players are important

This is about as much of a source as anyone of us posting something on this sub.
