  1. I remember Franco Armani, the main goalkeeper for Argentina, couldn't play because he kept testing positive for COVID, just days before the start of Copa América, and for that reason Martinez had to take his place. He ended up being a key part of that team.

  2. That penalty save against the Colombian guy was so epic he was like “ look how I eat you brother ! “ and he did save it 🤣🤣🤣😂 . That was after the Colombian guy talked trash and danced at every time he scored a gol

  3. you can love or hate this guy and his attitude, but what you can't deny is his results.

He can eat a lot of silly goals, but even so, he will always make an important save in the game. Otherwise, he would not have won 3 such important titles for his team and have helped Messi himself to become champion of his continent and the world.

  4. Argentina deserved the trophy regardless , shouldn't have been a 2nd penalty for France , it was not hand to ball it was ball to hand , Emi Martinez your a legend for given argentina a deserved victory ✌

  5. Martinez is respectful in press conference and a beast of a player but he needs to tone down the gloating a bit after the win. Though to be fair typical French response is to kick and scream and call everything unfair because they are a bunch of hypocrites. Argentinians can be sketchy and a bit too passionate, but the French are arrogant and everyone loves seeing them knocked down a peg.

Big love to N'golo Kante though, what a diamond in the rough

  6. I'm argentinean and I will forever be grateful for Messi, but Emi has had the biggest impact on the team by far. Armani was a decent GK, but Dibu is someone who will use every last resource at hand to do his job, and that's what sets him apart. Tough as nails.

  7. Emiliano Martinez is the best goalkeeper, he dedicated the award he received with affection to the corrupt world leaders and one of them looked at him excitedly smiling.

  8. A genius of a Goal Keeper. Shoot left, he saves it, Shoot right, again he saves. So the only option he leaves is, Shoot straight, Ya, straight above the post. Wow!! Hero! Just love him 🇦🇷

  9. I love Emi so much 💕 After his first save he ran to Dybala and told him to shoot in the middle because after a miss Lloris was surely going to choose a side. Dybala followed his advice and scored, and it was a lucky intervention because before he had planned to shoot to the same side Lloris chose 😂

  10. He's not the best GK in history. He's not even the best GK right now. He's just exactly the man Argentina needed. Someone with a strong personality and really really confident (to the point of insanity) on himself.

He does indeed show an impressive record on penalties definitions. I suspect the whole sport will evolve into adapting a lot of Martinez antics, since they seem to be effective.
