LAFC grabbed a 1-0 victory over Inter Miami in the first leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinal showdown at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. Nathan Ordaz was the hero of the night, scoring a stunning long-range goal in the 57th minute to give his team the advantage heading into the second leg.
Despite having Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, and Sergio Busquets, Inter Miami couldn’t break through LAFC’s defense. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris came up big with several key saves, including two against Messi. Miami had some chances, including a couple of Messi free kicks, but they couldn’t find the back of the net.
Now, all eyes are on the second leg on April 9 in Miami. Inter Miami will need to step up at home to turn things around if they want to stay in the tournament.
Think Miami can bounce back, or will LAFC hold on?
