This revisionism about Kane is gross. I am sure he’s scored multiple pens in a game before. Kane even said he doesn’t usually take pens vs Lloris in training so that element is overhyped.

IMO He changed his mind at the last moment when he saw Lloris move the same place he put the first penalty, which proved fatal.
Beckham did the same as Kane in 2004 Euros v Barthez and France. Should have gone 2-0.

The pressure got to him, pure and simple. Lloris is probably the worst goalkeeper at saving pens. If Kane had hit the target he would almost certainly have scored.

Any world class striker can miss a penalty in a crucial tense wc match so no he didn't bottle it, he had tremendous courage to step up to take the penalty in the first place everyone leave Harry Kane alone.
it's absolutely mental that anybody can argue against the idea that Kane bottles the big occasions. He's been doing it consistently for almost a decade now. It's just part of his character, some people just aren't made for the biggest of occasions. There's no shame in it. The real world class players have the composure to overcome it. Unfortunately for kane he isn't built for it. It'd help if the penny dropped with all these gobshites that still think he's a world class player when he clearly isn't.

What's annoying is Lloris looked useless at saving penalties in the final. The way he was you'd think as long as Kane hadn't hit it straight at him he would have scored.
