Well there are ' professional footballers', and then there are 'branded footballers' (Beckham, CR7, Neymar, Pogba). The first types are players who are specialists in certain position and are required to do a job for a team. The second types are incredibly giften athletes who are MNC's in of themselves, and are hired by clubs as celebrity signings–to both win and boost their commercial value–and in return they are promised a fortune and at least some input/control/player power. Neymar is #2. And there is nothing wrong with that.
