      I'm not sure who says Scally had a bad game, apparantly they didn't watch the match. Defensively he shut down Sane again he started the 2nd goal. The only real down thing is he lost the ball once that stuck out but he went right back at it and won the ball back.

      Pulisic is never coming back. Each time someone says he is about to return, the time he will come back only extends.

      Somewhat ironically I think Mallorca viewing Hoppe as only a center forward is limiting his chances. He's been pushed down the depth chart since Angel's come back, not that surprisingly. Fer Nino's not done much off the bench in his last couple matches so maybe Hoppe gets a shot soon.

      Since there is no other destroyer or player that can replace Adams, I'd like to see Busio tried as a double pivot with a De La Torre or Acosta or even Weston when Adams isn't available for the USMNT. But that would require a change in formation and I'm pretty sure we're in no danger of GGG considering that, lol.

      Sorry but Steffen missed ALL FIVE penalty attempts. ALL FIVE MISSED. Yes, he absolutely deserves to be held accountable for that. He looked atrocious and he looked nervous every time West Ham stepped up to take an pen. Compare that to someone like Turner who has a very good PK save percentage. shrugs

      How could Mark McKenzie be rated by anyone over CCV is beyond me? The Belgian Pro League is not better than the Scottish Premier League, and CCV is playing sooo much better than McKenzie. Right now, CCV is above McKenzie on the centerback depth chart.

      Scally also played a factor in 2 out of the 5 goals. The last one (or fourth one, don’t remember) started from his tackle. It lead to a counterattack and then goal. So to say he had a bad game, don’t agree. Also he helped his team keep a clean sheet. He did have one mistake, but in the grand scheme. Dude is in great form.

      Can you say "in the" Danish Cup, or whichever tournament. Instead of "for the"? "For the" means that they are playing in that tournament championship. It always confuses me, lol.

      Should we be concerned with Brooks health/form going into the Nov. camp? He hasn't looked good and looked like he was fighting an injury most of the games he's played this season.

      Dest on the wing is about where Barca is as a team… Less about where Dest is as a player. Other than missing the pretty open goals (a big deal no doubt) he’s actually played pretty good on the wing…

      I love long throw-ins. If you got a guy who can send in a line-drive ball into a dangerous area, as if it was an unmarked free-kick, why not do it?? I never got the "soccer people" who look down at long throw-ins like it was some unworthy or unclean way to try and score lol. The only negative would be that arguably our most dangerous header of the ball would be the one taking the long throws. Hmmm.

      Tac, did you see The Athletic's summary of Tyler Adams' club performance heading into this break? Compare it to the simple facts you present. They quite intentionally wrote around the DFB-Pokal performance, without acknowledging it, for no obvious reason. I'd comment there, but I got banned for hurting their reporters' feelings. And it wasn't even the most mind-blowingly stupid take on their proposed team for the next camp. That honor would be reserved for their pro-Zimmerman cut at Chris Richards. Actually writing, in print, that his brilliant tackle v Costa Rica should've been a penalty. You remember the one, around min 42, where Richards slides in to save the day with perfect execution of a Nesta tackle? Would've popped up ball at his feet like a guy sliding into 2nd, except Steffen was in the right spot, too, and smothered it. One can cut announcer Tyler Twellman some slack for saying on the live feed that it should've been a pen before he saw the replay; spouting off is what he does. But imagine being so insecure in your knowledge of the game that something Twellman farted became your gospel as a print reporter. You and Onze Wanks ought to have a bit more fun going at that bunch of stenographers. They fill that weird space, between solid brit & continental journos who know their game, and solid American writers who write well about our American games. But at the crossover you have a couple Americans writing about a game they only dimly understand. The best of the bunch isn't writing about soccer at all, but about pervy coaches playing mind games with female athletes. Oh, they did hint that Lletget & Acosta ought to sit, and Dike get a runout. Progress, I guess. The problem with Dike's performance over the summer, which neither they nor you nor Pete got at that I saw, was that you had a service-dependent target man stuck waiting for Lletget at the 10 to grow some balls and play something in. No hate, but somehow Dike got hung out to dry for GGG's failings.
