That is a leaders mentality. Aside from his physical brilliance, this mentality makes sense as to why the side started leaking goals without him.

Right now, he's the best defender at the club. Virgil is obviously all round, probably a better footballer, but Konate is definitely the best pure defender. He's a monster in his duels. He covers runs in behind better than anyone in Europe. You can guarantee that if a winger gets in behind Trent, Ibu will be breaking his back to get there and win the ball back, and he always does. Lost count of the amount of times I've saw him outpacing a winger and saving a counter attack.
His reading of the game has improved massively this season, too.
