One year after the U-20 MNT reached the quarterfinals at the U-20 World Cup in Korea Republic, a quintet of that team’s young talent has reached the senior MNT, the highest number yet in a single camp from last summer’s tournament roster. The U-20 alumni have begun to make an impact as part of the young MNT’s next generation.

  1. If you say you are faster than I am you had better be prepared to race right there… That said, I like the competitiveness of these guys. There are no excuses for the 2020 Olympics. I think this group can win a medal if they play to up their potential. Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Andrew Carelton, Tim Weah, Brooks Lennon, Haji Wright, Chris Durkin… There are some questions on defense, but this looks like by far the best Olympic pool we have had in a long time, probably ever. As we have seen, a poor Olympic performance (or absence) can reflect in WCQ's. They need to produce results. In eight years these guys should all be in their prime, possibly playing in a North American World Cup. I hope they don't blow it.

  2. They are acting like these guys are big achievers, but weren't they in the U20 World Cup team that got thrashed 4-1 by England? America get rid of the pay to play system because if you don't working class kids from England and the world are going to keep thrashing America in youth world cups.

  3. By the way looking at the four boys of similar age. Can you tel just by looking at them which player was raised and developed in England where there is no pay to play system? I give you a clue the guy who looks like a full grown man. If Ronaldo, Neymar, Suarez was born in the US they would have been too poor to play soccer.

  4. This is good to see, I see a lot of comradery here and even though they are just joking around when they were saying who is faster than who, that right there, its showing the intense competitiveness they have and that is what you need to be a winner. It also brings back nostalgic memories as a kid and teenager when I used to play on travel teams and how me and my teammates were.
