Frimpong is not a classic Defender, he is a wingback and plays in a 3 row/5 row. He has many qualities and 40 m is no price, but he is not a replacement for Trent!
The sheer ARROGANCE of Premier League fans is so annoying. Why would he leave Bayer 04 Leverkusen at this time? Young, playing Champions League, coached by Xabi Alonso and most importantly= He's always in the first eleven in the League with the fullest stadiums.
When Clubs like FC Bayern München, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan or Juventus Turin make proper offers…. Liverpool or ANY Premier League Club fast becomes a second choice.
Im not saying Liverpool isn't a phenomenal Club…but when one of the previous names Clubs make a offer….the no brainer would become questionable really, really fast.
Also….this shows again the main problem with the Brits= A no brainer would be to first look for a English player with the potential….is there a youth player that could potentially grow into a great player. Why take that position away from somebody that could grow into a English national player.
This attitude is the reason why England's national team hasn't won a Workd or Euro Cup for multiple decades. Poor development of its native talents – overpaying foreign players that remove positions in the top five teams literally helping other nations development.
As a FC Bayern München Fan….i absolutely hate when management doesn't first go for German national players and them, when no other option is available, go for a player beyond the Bundesliga.
