      Saliba is HUGE for arsenal, there was no way they could have signed any world class cb anytime soon similar to how Liverpool signed Vvd but saliba in 2 years will be world class

      Arteta and Edu are doing a good job in signing players from last season look at Ramsdale ,Tomiyasu,Odegard,Benjamin white, now look at Jesus and Zinchenko. Thier ages as and talent and fitting in the team immediately, its good management not like buying lukaku 100 million and go on loan after one season.

      William saliba has been a revelation this year ,and the really big challange is can he contain, close out hahaland, if he can close him down and deny hi space for a whole gsme then arsenal will have a chance in the game to come .. but his season does not hang on that only, he has brought a presence into arsenals defence a sence of control and assurance,, priceless…

      Hasn’t Saliba been loaned out 3 times and not 2 times when we bought him from St Etienne he was loaned back to finish the season he went to Nice the following season then Marseille in the season after

      Nope… Please don't talk about pairing Saliba with Ben White in the middle. Ben White plays better out wide where he does not have to be the guy. Yes Gabi is prone to making mistakes but he and Saliba make for a more assertive partnership. In essence we look more comfortable especially in the air which used to be our weakness. Teams now have to run in behind but with set pieces and crosses we are relatively safe.

      William has immense potential. He's still developing, he lost Firmino while trying to push out in the Liverpool. Small mistakes like that he needs to learn from. However, he does look so assured. I want to see him up against the likes of Haaland and Man City. In time he will be better than Varane, he'll be first choice France centreback. Arsenal need to tie him down, I could see Psg or Real Madrid trying to lure him away on the cheap.

      If we had a better Left sided CB We’d concede far less Gabriel just reads the game wrong and panics under pressure. That’s the one side of his game he lacks he’s good in other areas but his decision making under pressure needs to be looked at.

      Even if Arsenal goes out and buys another Center back lets say with some good experience that is going to cost 60M or more. Even finding another Saliba will cost you around that price just because the other team knows what they are selling. Just look at how much Fofana cost. Nowadays having good defenders is hard to find.

      agreed with nedum on this point.
      even tho i know he likes having a left footer in defence (gabriel), arteta needs to switch it up.
      gabriel is too prone to mental errors defensively, especially in the big games. so at least for those kinds of matches…
      arsenal should line up in defence with tomiyasu (rb) saliba (cb) white (cb) and zinchenko/tierney (lb)

      As an Arsenal fan, Im really worried about Gabriel. His becoming a liability in the backline. I think he just needs rest. Would love to see Tomi and Saliba start together at CB.

      Nedum Onouha used to be a terrible terrible defender back in the day, in his prime, when he played for Man city and QPR. Back in those days Man city were a relegation scrapper every season.
