Josh, you mentioned Scott Arfield potentially being called back to the National Team Squad due to Injuries at Midfield….Is this actually an existing option for Herdman or are these only rumors??
I'm just a huge Arfield fan, and always thought of him playing midfield only improves this CAMNT…
I really hope Herdman is giving Arfield a call. He has several seasons of experience in the Premier League and has over 60 appearances in European competition (Europa or CL) with Rangers. How many players in Canada’s roster can boast that kind of experience? Even with a fully fit Oso, Arfield is bringing a style of game that none of the others really offer and he’s dangerous from distance too. Herdman and co would be crazy not to call him over Fraser or a concussion riddled Oso who hasn’t played since August

Canadians Abroad is an excellent series. I have mixed feelings about naming Scott Arfield to the WC squad, to put it politely. He was not there when the team grinded it out during qualifying in unglamourous locations. I understand the rumour was that he did not want to play thoss games. Naming him to the WC squad would reward that behaviour and would not sit well with the players that helped the team in those matches. A morale-busting move, in my opinion.
