Lions linebacker Jamie Collins didn’t participate in a walk-through Wednesday for non-injury reasons, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports the team is exploring trade options.

Collins has played 100 defensive snaps but has faced criticism for his play after the Lions allowed 76 points in two weeks. He has 10 tackles and a fumble recovery.

ā€œLook, Jamie had some mistakes,ā€ coach Dan Campbell said, via Kyle Meinke of mlive.com. ā€œIt wasn’t certainly his best performance.ā€

Campbell said the Lions want to give fourth-round pick Derrick Barnes more time at linebacker.

Collins, who turns 32 later this month, is in his second season in Detroit.

  1. I can see them getting a 5th rd maybe 6th he can contribute somewhere else. I agree with you younger is the best way at this point. And getting rid of the patriot players I’m all for it.

  2. The Collins situation was F’d from the jump, we should of signed him after his NE release instead we overpay after one season in CLE, Thanks to Quinntricia…he’s a 5th/6th round at best…All We Have to build with is Hock, Rag, Sew, Swift, Romeo, Fox, Jamal, & *Goff is a stop gap & jury is still out on rookies…everything else is expendable IMO…MikeāœŠšŸ¾šŸ’Æ

  3. I don't know as much detail as you myself. I just don't have the time. That's why I follow you because i appreciate so much your expertise which makes me understand better of what's actually going on and your videos are succinct and informative. Thanks!

  4. Let’s go with the youth movement. No more Patricia stink. No Anzalone, no Collins, we got Anthony Pittman and Barnes. Also AJ Jacobs has been incredible, 11th ranked corner in the NFL as a UDFA rookie. Jerry Jacobs and Bobby price also have impressed. The guy I want to trade for horribly is Marcus Willams from the Saints, he soooo much better than Will Harris, he would immediately make Tracy Walker and our corners look so much better. Experienced smart savvy veteran, he’d be great.

  5. You will have to basically get nothing in return, but that is alright. It will free up money for future free agents. Hopefully ones that will actually make this team better.

  6. Bruh you are saying 3,4,5…… come on you will barely get a 7 round pic… but they will definitely release him, he’s not the same anymore…

  7. Holmes,Campbell and Dorsey are staying busy tweeking the roster while trying to preserve draft capital. This is good and will produce results.Keep in mind, the Lions brass is largely responsible for the current Rams,Chiefs and Browns rosters. They know what they are doing.

  8. Totally agree with you sir. Let’s take whatever draft capital we can get and keep developing Pitman and Beckett for next season as well. Barnes needs the reps and game experience and he’s better for our defense immediately. Go Lions!

  9. A draft pick would be great but what if we simply trade him for either another LB or WR ? Either way it was time for him to go. As a veteran he was lacking as a leader on the field and with what the Lions are trying to do, he doesn't fit. Must go!

  10. Why does everyone want to blame the player? Blame this horrendous coaching staff for their inability to get the best out of these players. Obviously Collins had no enthusiasm for this coaching staff. Breshad Perriman and Geronimo Allison had no enthusiasm either. You say everyone who doesn't like it should get out? That's the best advice I've heard. All these players should jump off this sinking ship as fast as they can. Terrible ,embarrassing, dreadful organization. They will go 0-17.
