That depends tbh. I always think about this kind of issues every time an international event comes to the US. The only ones that can enter the country visa free are Europeans and only 2 asian countries. The rest have to try their luck in getting a Visa, and it sucks even more with the current administration.
So if an African nation for example plays a game in US soil, we won’t see much of the fanbase around unless the fans live in the US.

The players will be fine. Some fans might have a hard time but no the two biggest sports events in the world are not canceled

  3. In the past FIFA has dropped the Visa requirements for ticket holders. I have been watching this topic with interest.

Trump, his administration policies & MAGA supporters, the ones to blame along with any individuals that were eligible to vote and choose not to. This event could be used to showcase the best of North America. Trump administration showcases the worst.

I’m an immigration attorney. Anyone who can afford a World Cup ticket won’t be denied a visa.

No nation should be able to host the world cup without having ever won the world cup.

Does anyone know when we should be applying for a visa? I’m looking to travel USA for 10 weeks

Well I’m sure depending on what the status of the US is at the time, not many south Americans or Spanish speakers would be wanting to be in the US then.

I hope I’m wrong and it doesn’t get as bad as everyone expects it will there – but at least Canada and Mexico can probably host it all if needed.

Edit: Added quotes to reflect that this is not my opinion.

  10. I, for one, welcome taking the WC away from America. It will never happen for financial reasons, and Trump is also a buddy with the head of FIFA!

They will do a fan ID and require a ticket and confirmation of hotels.

The same they have done in other WC

  12. Same as it shouldn’t have been in Russia or Qatar for their abusive governments it shouldn’t be in the US.

LA Times stirring the pot again… that’s why I stopped reading that paper. People will get in for these events. All the guarantees were signed when the agreements were finalized and signed. Ticket holders will get in. Next years World Cup will be the most profitable and attended one to date. LA will make a lot of money off of it as will every other host city.

As for the Olympics, the LA Times again is hell bent on wanting to see LA fail. LA28 will probably make money money than LA84 did. The LA Times is a failing paper, so they are obsessed with the idea of everything else failing. It’s one controversy to the next with that paper. They were so spineless last year when they didn’t endorse a presidential candidate.

My wife calls this “crisis journalism“. By that she means putting out clickbait articles while not actually knowing or sharing all the details.
