On August 8 2019, Lukaku joined Inter Milan by signing a five-year contract with a transfer value of €80 million, which was the club’s biggest transfer record. He made his first appearance for Inter on 26 August 2019, in the first match of the 2019–20 Serie A season against Lecce. He scored one goal in the match, which ended in a 4–0 home win. This goal made him the third Belgian player, after Enzo Scifo and Radja Nainggolan, to ever score for Inter in Serie A.
