Tyrell Malacia was back in action in Manchester United colours for the first time in 17 months with man United Under 21’s against Huddersfield last night.
The full-back, who has not featured for United since May 2023 due to a long-term injury, completed the first half of our EFL Trophy tie away to Huddersfield Town, before he was replaced by Harry Amass as part of a pre-planned substitution at half-time.
Malacia started the tie at the John Smith’s Stadium in a familiar left-back role and was a notably vocal presence in the backline throughout his time on the pitch.
Tyrell Malacia was heavily involved for Manchester United and put in a performance which suggests he has not lost his ability in his unbelievably long lay-off.
He only lasted until half-time on his return to football, but he got through it unscathed in what will be viewed as a real success by the club.
