‘Maeda was fouled!’

The panel debate whether or not Bayern Munich’s crucial goal against Celtic should’ve been ruled out.

Brendan Rodgers believes Daizen Maeda WAS fouled in the build up to Bayern Munich’s equaliser, but that the Japanese maybe lacked the experience to make sure he got the decision.

Celtic livewire Maeda hit the deck after appearing to be caught on the head by Dayot Upamecano, but French ref Benoit Bastien didn’t halt play, even as Upamecano went over to the felled Maeda to check he was okay.

Keith Jackson and Daniel Caw pore over last night’s Champions League action as Celtic suffered Champions League heartbreak in stoppage time away to Bayern Munich.

Alphonso Davies’ late goal stopped Brendan Rodgers from taking this play-off tie to extra time. Celtic had stunned the Germans by going through Nicolas Kuhn’s goal on his return to his old stomping ground.

  1. Great performance from our BHOUYS but the reality is that IF we had KYOGO against Bayern we would have beat them!!! Its great though to have Jota home where he belongs!

  2. Celtic where tremendous but you really need to take yer chances, especially v the real TOP teams like Bayern,it was a heartbreaking way to toss the lead away in the very last minute 😮 it actually felt like a defeat(I know we got eliminated) but it would’ve been unreal to beat them over 90 mins in the Allianz & see where we got in extra time 🤔 Celtic played with no fear over there, let’s add even more quality to this side & see how we get on in Europe next season after we seal another glorious treble this season 🍀💪🏽🤩

  3. There is no doubt what's the better option, having Kyogo or a Kyogo replacement, versus, not having Kyogo? It's a no brainer, obviously it would be much more beneficial to have him or a replacement than not! Losing any player, nevermind your top goal scorer, and not bringing in another, even just for the numbers, is weakening the side. Yes we brought in Jota but that's not like for like. Whether Kyogo would've made any difference or not, we'll never know. Overall, it was a tremendous performance on the night and the team should be immensely proud of themselves and look forward to next seasons campaign! Onwards and upwards!
