  1. He needs good leaders on field…plus a strong forward presence to help him and to take the load. This would open up space for him to exploit.
We have lacked a strong forward set up for a good few seasons.
RM was a poor manager who put himself first in everything. He still hadn’t learned to stepm away from the players and lacked objectivity and was too involved with the personality side of the players ……still an Indian and not a chief.

  2. I’m surprised they look at social media, it’s toxic. I’m glad he’s being finally given a chance. I think the atmosphere is better this season considering the results. Don’t think last year was that great, rose tinted glasses possibly?

  3. I’ve heard it from Adam Blackmore a couple of months ago on going home with Adam and Jo. He did state that this was his opinion though. He wasn’t saying that he knows it. So yeh, where has it come from?

  4. Kamadene's been our best player in the last month – remarkable that Martin didn't play him. Many fans saw his potential, especially with his performance against Liverpool, at the end of the season two years ago. Let's be honest, our midfield's supply to the forwards is very poor at Premier level. Nevertheless with our left-side now – namely , Wellington, Fernades and Groenbaek, helping him out – there's nothing to stop him and Saints succeeding. But he has to be consistent and determined.

  5. I’m always happy to hold my hands up and say I was wrong and I can do that with this young lad hopefully he will just get better and better. As for fans I sit in chapel it’s never been the loudest and I’d love to be up Northam but I take my mum and there is no way she could stand all match now so Chapel it is ( she doesn’t like itchen because of the sun glare). May try kingsland next season but can’t afford the middle seats lol so we shall see x

  6. He has a talent, I think he has had a really hard time with injury. He will be a good player for us if we let him be the man. RM had favourites, we all know that now, he wanted to play his mates and it ruined the confidence of the team and we are still dealing with that now.

He stayed when we went down, he has the chance to leave I believe, he has been patient and fought for his place, Ivan has turned to him and made him the a real threat! If we can keep hold of him in the summer he will light it up. He needs to work on his finishing!

As for the Atmosphere at SM!! Its awful, seriously awful!! Up in the chapel end we are literally surrounded by schools and guests every week – Its Prawn Sandwich! The Away Fans have been fantastic every week – its awful – But honestly what are we to chant about!?

  7. Sulemana has had such limited impact across a few managers. Manchester United against Yoro was the first time he produced a performance across a match; although he showed some glimpses under Reuben Selles, it was 10-20-minute spells before he invariably got downhearted. He didn't fit Russ' vision and it was lamentable seeing him try to cut back crosses from the byline – he's not that kind of winger. Juric deserves credit for trying to adapt him into someone playing less out wide. Though I have sympathy for him (he's a victim of our odd approach to recruitment and managerial style changes and our over-obsession with youth), there are too many negatives to his game – weak decision making on when to release the ball when dribbling, weak composure when in the box, weak finishing, a history of not being able to sustain performances across 90 minutes. He can't really be used as a winger (not a decent crosser ; not got a shot when cutting in from the wing), and is still finding his position as either an AMLC or possibly even an advanced forward in the future. It's a textbook case of a player who got a bad move at the key time in his development, and I think people may well be mentioning his potential whoever he plays for in 2030. French journalists were incredulous that we paid what we did for him by the way.

  8. Funny how our record signing cannot just come on and play. Why did Russel not play him and see his talent. Something is not right and we should question the Southampton way in training and the mental attitude of young players. As a result I see players with a poor mental attitude and lack of running back to defend the team. Is it the manager or the ambition of the club?

  9. Hes got all the potential and attributes when he applies himself, but with every other fan, we want to see more of an end product. Weve seen it in glimpses this season but we obviously want to see more.

  10. Well said about sulemana , he has great potential and once he has got his confidence and less injuries and has the manager believe in him , he will become our best player ! Trolls need hanging from there balls lol

Can't say much about the Northam wall as not had much to get excited about ! Still make more noise than some other grounds !

  11. Northam Wall? I moved to the Northam from Itchen and LOVE the atmosphere (on a good day!). It seems as though the acoustics of St Mary’s somehow direct the noise down to the pitch…so many people say they can’t hear the wall elsewhere in the stadium (although others say they can 🤷‍♀️)
Club should set up a sound system (cheap enough) with microphones at the Northam End and speakers at the other stands…that way, other fans would (hopefully) be encouraged to join in the making of NOISE?! STID ⚽️❤️⚽️❤️

  12. I sit in the Northam wall it was amazing last season in the championship but this has been a bit flat for good reasons so I'd say that's a bit harsh. The away fans had it for years and had the advantage of the acoustics the problem if you sit anywhere else and try to have a cheer and sing song the fans look at you like your an alien and never join in

  13. i’ve never understood where it’s came from either, he’s always run and put himself about. i still believe in him and we as a club should too, renew his contract and let him be one of the main men next season. he’s still young and he’ll get better. there’s a reason he always has a lot of interest in him from very good clubs.

  14. He has potential. Vs United he was unplayable, but just didn’t have that end product. If I was a player, I’d have zero social media presence.
