  1. Football is boring these days . Only certain games are ok . Passion ,freedom all taken from football . Training them man since age of 3 . My people , anyone who lived through the Brazil times know its never to be witnessed again .

  2. It all began with Pep and his absolute fear of not having the ball at least 70% of the time. This boring passing it around 30-40 times before trying to pass it across the line is boring af. City wont commit to a counter attack even if they're in a good position to do so. They'd rather control possesion and pass i all the way back to Ederson rather than run ANY risk in a game. Defensive and boring.

  3. I don't like this take, there is no way 11 men gather together on the pitch to see who does the most flashy noisy stuff, the game evolved and it IS evolving. I think those who are daring and capable will always produce exceptions and miracles. There is no need for this pessimism it actually drives me nuts

  4. The NBA has his problem. It's boring to watch guys walk down the court and throw up 50 threes, but the analytics say it's the most efficient and effective way to win games.

For clubs, being efficient is far more important than being entertaining, but eventually people will stop watching because we want our team to win, but we also want to be entertained. I'm only watching my team if all the games are boring, instead of spending Saturday watching all the matches.

  5. We had a former epl player coach our team for a few seasons. I was a dribbler, I was able to make the US youth national team from my 1v1 abilities. He grabbed the ball from me one day while i was juggling, drop kicked it across the field and said he never wanted to see a trick from me again.

  6. He's right. It's worse than efficiency. The game has changed so much we have all the rigid systems. Teams afraid to drop too many points. VAR interruptions. Used to be a fun game now it's just a contest.

  7. It is all embedded in the football academies, they are creating robots.
Football used to be fun because kids from the street were able to make it to top clubs. Now days there street footballers anymore.

If you have played street football you know what am talking about, it is very different from academy football. It teaches you skills that enable navigate small spaces. Thus creating the likes of Zidanes, Ronaldhinos, Ronaldo phenomenon, Rivaldo, Seedoff etc These can not be cloned in the football academies.

  8. The real truth is money kill the beautiful game of football back then players play with purpose they love the game they had more passion

  9. Celtic fan. Having just lost one the games greatest in Denis Law the era of individual flare, talent and character is long gone, all regimented athletes with pre scripted game plans and everything over thought now and even a below average player can make millions from the game, my idol was the great Jimmy Johnstone, he could have walked into any team in world football in his day, the game screams out for entertainers.

  10. If there was more players like Ronaldinho there wouldn’t be a manager or scout on the planet caring that he isn’t scoring 30 goals from the wing. He’s a God gifted talent that doesn’t happen often no football coach or team produced players like Dinho there just purely sent to play football at the elite level by natural born talent. Nothing today’s football can do about that. He is right about efficiency tho. But in a simple way these naturally gifted freak footballers just aren’t being birthed anymore I blame women not wanting kids and wanting better careers 🤣🤣🤣🤣 JK🤣🥲

  11. Pep ruined the beautiful game. But it's funny how he's now struggling for the first time in his career when he don't have a Messi or a Robben to get him out of trouble.

  12. It's not going to change and there really isn't any way to change it. Coaches are going to coach and as long as the modern athlete keeps getting better and stronger, an aggressive, pressing style is the most effective. I remember a video about the '98 World Cup and the Brazilians moaning that they weren't "playing Brazilian football". Yeah, you got two guys there in Viera and Desailly just begging you to "play Brazilian football" so they can pick your pocket and take it the other way. Game is more athletic now and coaches are – rightly – taking advantage of it.
