Southgate doesn’t deserve it and I think the comparable with Beckham being more deserving is fair – he has categorically done more for the game in both performance, achievements and notable charitable pieces over 3 decades, than Southgate did in 8 years as manager.

Matterface's argument is that Southgate deserves his Knighthood for his services to football.. The last time i checked, THAT WAS SOUTHGATES JOB, and lets not forget that he got paid EXTREMELY WELL for doing so.. Matterface is talking like Southgate was there VOLUNTEERING for 14 years!!
