Darwin Nunez made a bold move during the game when he looked at Matthijs de Ligt just seconds before charging into the Man United defender with his shoulder. 😳 The force of the challenge left de Ligt a bit shaken, and Nunez was given a yellow card for the incident.
De Ligt accidentally touched the ball with his hand inside the box. The referee saw it in VAR and decided to give a penalty.

Red card but they are Liverpool players so…
Liverpool players don't get the same red cards or foyls given against them as ither teams get
Intention to hurt, how is this not serious?
In my opinion it wasn't a red card and possibly not even a yellow but it was a foul yes
I thought there was a regulation saying if you endanger an opponent whether you make contact or not, it's a (potential) red. But Oliver bottled it again – last season he should've sent off Kovacic when he went thru the back of Odegaard and definitely when he did Rice a few mins later but he wanted to "let the game flow…" But a few seasons ago he yellow carded Martinelli twice in less than a min v Wolves. Yes technically he could but the guy is so inconsistent which is what fans hate about the standards of refereeing!
Red card all day
"Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.
In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."
by definition its a red all day, and for that matter so was the pedro incident last week. theres no debate just a complete lack of consistency in enforcing the rules yet again
If you have played football at any level you would know that was a Red. Anybody arguing otherwise lacks experience or feels winning at all costs is healthy.
There's no excuse for Nunez action and the yellow card for such heartless action was a disgraceful decision
Haha i can't believe this is actually being talked about, it was a foul he got a yellow card so get over it, if anything deligt was on a yellow, then handled the ball in the box to give away a penalty, so he should have got a second yellow, stop crying and enjoy the fact yous are sitting pretty up in 13th
Delit shouldn’t have been on the pitch anyway…first yellow for dragging back , then he should have received a second for his handball???🤫🤫…and for those saying it’s always LFC in favour if you kept up with football 2 refs have been sacked/suspended for cheating against us like the Doku challenge which cost us another title!!
Love how these big strong players hold their face when they’ve been shoulder barged….pathetic acting and simulation..
