Estudiantes de La Plata x River Plate

On November 30, 2024, Estudiantes de La Plata hosted River Plate at Estadio Ciudad de La Plata, in an electrifying clash valid for the Argentine Professional League. In a fast-paced game, River Plate won 2-1. Right from the start, the visiting team imposed its pace: Facundo Colidio opened the scoring in the 4th minute and, shortly after, in the 9th minute, Maximiliano Meza added the advantage, both with precise and engaging assistance to each other.

Estudiantes, even at a disadvantage, did not give up and fought until the end. In the second half, Guido Carrillo, who came on at halftime, reduced the score in the 60th minute with a beautiful goal, assisted by Eric Meza, rekindling the hopes of the local fans. But, despite the pressure, the home team failed to equalize.

The game still had some tense scenes, with several substitutions and yellow cards. For Estudiantes, striker Luciano Giménez came on in the 86th minute and, at 90+3, received a yellow card. At River Plate, midfielder Ignacio Fernández also came on in the 62nd minute and was cautioned in the 89th minute. Goalkeeper Franco Armani was penalized with a yellow card in the 90+5 minutes for taking too long to replace the ball, showing that River Plate even cared about the details.

With the victory, River Plate maintained its firm position at the top of the Professional League table, while Estudiantes was in 12th place, still looking for improvements to continue in the dispute.
