Real Madrid commenced their 2025 training sessions with a focus on upcoming fixtures, notably the rescheduled match against Valencia on January 3rd at Mestalla. The training regimen, directed by Carlo Ancelotti, began with gym exercises, followed by on-field drills emphasizing possession, ball control, build-up play, and pressing. The session concluded with small-sided games and shooting practice.
A significant development was the partial participation of David Alaba, who is in the final stages of recovery from a severe knee injury sustained in December 2023. Alaba completed portions of the training with the main group, indicating progress toward his return to competitive play. However, he is not expected to be match-fit for the upcoming Supercopa de España.
Notably absent from the session were Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão, both continuing their rehabilitation from injuries. Their return dates remain uncertain, and the team is monitoring their progress closely.
The squad is also preparing for a Copa del Rey match against Deportiva Minera on January 6th. The team’s focus is on maintaining fitness and tactical readiness for a demanding schedule ahead.
