Harry Kane has paid tribute to Gareth Southgate after he decided to leave his role as England manager.
The FA has begun the search for a new England manager following Gareth Southgate’s departure after Euro 2024; Southgate was appointed in 2016 with England reaching their first World Cup semi-final for 28 years in 2018 and first major men’s final in 55 years at Euro 2020 during his tenure

"pathetic" even with a new manager we still would lose! Spain and Co are on another level to us we should of kept him gave him the chance to at least try 🙄. What happens if we only get to the quarter finals next time out with a new manager? people will be saying that at least Southgate got us to a Final. See what I mean it's never ending

My idea of success seems different to these guys. Neither of these two have won anything of note through their careers. Are they good guys worthy or respect – yes. Have they made a difference to the England team – yes. Should we thank them for their service – yes. Have they been a success – no. Only us English seem to celebrate losers.
Well his tactics were awful and his team selection is always questionably

All the players talk about the respect they have for Southgate as a man but no one ever questioned his man management. They questioned his style of play. He had 4 tournaments to win something for England and bottled our best chance against Italy with his negative style of play. He should have stepped down after that final. We completely dominated Italy in that first half but he decided to sit back and invite pressure after going a goal up when the win was easily there for the taking. I have no sympathy for Southgate. He's had the easiest draws every single tournament and has always lost when we've faced a top team. Southgate is given too much credit for the run to this Euros final when it took individual moments to scrap us through games, It had nothing to do with his tactics or gameplan, we got the final in spite of him. People will say he's got us further than any other manager but between 2002-2006 there was actual competiton and world class teams and he would have struggled massively. This has been the weakest era of football where top teams aren't the most competitive and Southgate still failed with the talent he had at his disposal. I for one will not miss him.
i rather SG doesnt get along that well with certain favoured members of the team and win something.

Think Garrath Southgate is going to be a hard. hard act to follow.
He understood modern international football techniques.
He understood individuals needs to allow them to be benefit the 🏴 teem.
Showed his skill as a manager.
A very very thoughtful & understanding manager to young players.
He gave a squad of young men who many thought they knew it all only to find the many different crushing pressures of top European football.
If Garrath really dose not want to give it one more try, I’m happy for him.
But if it is arrogance of people who think they are entitled to greater expectations from Garrath, I’m sad & angry at the same time.
Never has anyone given so much.
Regardless no matter his decision I wish him well & happiness 👏✊🫶

Harry Cane is a true gentleman. Nevertheless, England does not need a gentleman to win key matches. They need a group of players hungry and assertive like Jude Bellingham to win.
