Honestly, i don't think Southgate is overhated. He has been handed an absolutely incredible squad, in my opinion the best England squad we have seen this century, and we have scraped past easy opponents too many times. We have been handed easy knockout draws in the last few tournaments and the second we get to a difficult team, (France, Italy, Croatia) we cannot find a way to win. He has zero in-game management ability and the players that we have deserve a manager of their quality.
I will always consider him one of my favourite England managers regardless of this tournament. England played the best football at the last euros and were good contenders for the last two world cups. Winning isn’t an expectation to me, otherwise we could only have one decent manager in history.
Southgate isn’t a coach in my book. He’s more like librarian or history teacher. The fact that he was “close” a couple times doesn’t mean anything. Just remember how they got into Euro 2020 final. They were literally gifted the win by referee. That was so disgusting that even I, who support Arsenal and don’t like Italy, was cheering for Italy to take it so the justice would prevail. With teams England has year in and year out, this man I just a joke who wastes the potential of good generation.
the players also need to step up, Southgate is not doing the best job with his subs and tactics agreed, but in terms of cohesion and identity he has done loads. But with so much talent on the pitch they should be able to 'find a way'. Its a team effort after all – mananager AND the 11 players
My opinion is that if Southgate doesnt bring the Euros home… he should be sacked or demoted to Assistant Coach… and Id hire Lampard or Potter as they seem a better fit for international Management in my opinion.

I think regardless of what happens Gareth and his Coaching Staff deserve a lot of credit, they have done so well. While it hasn't been easy to watch and there's been a stroke of luck here and there, the fact is he has got them to a final and they could possibly win it tonight
he just signed another 2 year contract, us English need to get over it. He’s the best manager we had, first tournament wc 2018 semi final, euro 2020 final, nations league 2018-19 third place (wc 2022 quarter finals, but France kinda robbed them) Euro 2024 finals
