  1. The day they announced she would take time off crushed me because I had just started to really get into women’s hoops because of her. Taurasi made me turn the game on but Maya is FORVER my 🐐!!! She won 6 championships from 09-17 and very likely could’ve won more had she not chose to step away when she did. The only women’s player I’ve ever seen who I feel could be a solid NBA player.

  2. She gained weight from having a kid but still looking gorgeous ❤😊 Love me some Maya Lady Mamba I used to say straight walking bucket 💪🏾

  3. Her husband is so lucky to have a woman like this. So humble, talented with a huge heart. I miss watching her selfishly, but I was entertained while it lasted. She was definitely dominant and gracefully on the court.

  4. It takes courage to step away at the peak of your craft. Maya was one the best players ever. People forget the women didn’t get a break. They played stateside then went overseas to hoop bc of the money.

  5. There are two legendary athletic WNBA champions that retired in their primes at multiple champions.
Deanna Tweety Nolan, 3 time champion, 4 time finalist, 5 time All Star and 5 time All Defense.
The most athletic player in league history and the only player with a male jumper
The other is 4 time champion and 5 time finalist, Maya Moore, my version of a younger Tweety Nolan.
Cheryl Reeves had the luxury of coaching both to multiple titles
