  1. I own that movie Victory… it's actual title is Escape To Victory. One of my all-time favorites!…. but of course I'm 52 years old. Lol. Viva Pele, Michael Caine and Stallone! All you young bucks out there, check it out!

  2. Let's be real for a second. Victory was a terrible movie. But it was nice to see my soccer heroes on film. (And they won! Defeated the evil Nazis and everything!) Looking forward to the two upcoming USMNT matches. Should learn a lot – but prob. less than if our roster weren't so injury-riddled. Should be a fun lead up to the WC.

  3. I'm not convinced Zach Steffen is going to be reliable enough to give us a ball-playing goalkeeper. Other than Tim Ream we don't have any real ball-playing center backs and I don't think Tim Ream is going to make it to 2026. I wonder if our best chance is to play Tessmann or Maloney at center back. I haven't watched Heidenheim much. I think Maloney has some experience at center back, unlike Tessmann, but I don't know how good he is on the ball. Tessmann is an excellent passer and has good close control. Perhaps he's a little slow but we can't have everything. I guess he doesn't really have much experience at the position, but I have seen him drop into the back line at times when defending.

Modern football demands so much out of center backs and goalkeepers, which is perhaps why we are weak in those positions now when in the past we were strong. It's not enough to be a good shot stopper or to be able to win duels with forwards and stop crosses any more.

  4. Poch's system is simple but intense, it should lend itself quite well to an national team (particularly a mostly young squad) he'll work them hard but wont bombard them with too much complexity

  5. Hope Poch scares the hell out of our team. Unless and until they all believe they can and will be replaced if they don’t perform, they will not improve.

  6. Does Jordan Morris have to score a hat trick for Sounders vs Miami in a MLS Cup win to get some consideration? This is a very good player who has had injuries at most unfortunate times. Steve Cooper had him in preseason at Swans a few years ago and was going to buy him but JMo got hurt in Wales. He would have gaudy points at Seattle this season if sounders had classier players around him. Herc, come on, can he get a witness?
