Having gained his U.S. citizenship in December 2019, Colombian-American striker Jesús Ferreira came to the USMNT’s January Camp looking to make a choice on his international future. Prior to the the team’s game against Costa Rica, the 19-year-old informed U.S. Soccer of his decision to represent the United States.

  3. Let's face it, why would a guy of colombian origin, born in colombia, raised speaking fluent spanish like any average colombian, play for the USA if he's good enough to play for colombia?.
    Like the "Jermaine Jones", the "Dom Dwyers" & the "Joe Coronas" of the team, he picked the US because it's an easier option for his career.
    He probably won't be playing for the US if he was a champions league regular starter in Europe, I can bet that.
