  1. Been a while since I’ve been shocked like that but holy fuck Meslier that’ll haunt him.

  2. Fair score tbf – very lucky equaliser for us, but the first Leeds goal was offside. Leeds looked really good. Gnonto was class and came off as really likeable. Very happy with that.

Comments I wanted to say prior to conceding the second still apply.

Our defence is exceptional at this level when we decide to lock down. We got ahead and then Sunderland didn’t make a single chance despite constantly threatening to.

Seriously though, what the fuck was that Meslier?

I missed the equaliser because I was on my phone writing a comment about how losing to Leeds is nothing to be too concerned about, particularly with the way the goals went in.

Islian Meslier though, give him the freedom of the city. He literally moved out of the way hahaha, that is one of the best things I’ve ever seen on a football pitch. What a man.

  5. I’m just sat here in disbelief, you don’t get that in non-league.

Would’ve been the perfect away performance

    Two takeaways:

    – One of the worst howlers I’ve ever seen
    – I guess Sunderlands manager looking like French Chris Coleman who has been kicked in the head is a meme in Sunderland circles?

  7. I’m still baffled that a professional goalkeeper can physically do what Meslier just done, biblical howler

Really confused about Sunderland’s plan in that second half but I guess it doesn’t matter not, but felt like they made no real attempt to make any changes to get back into the game.

  8. Calling it an “Alan Browne wonder strike” is definitely a choice.. Just like this Tuesday when they titled “Celtic holding Dortmund to 5” at some point during the game 😂

Honestly thought Sunderland had fucked it twice there at the end trying to get the ball forward to create a chance but didn’t account for the Meslier factor. How’s he even managed that?

I need a front on view to try and understand what’s happened there. Has it flicked off the defender and therefore picked up a mad amount of spin? It’s like he’s tracked the ball to bounce chest high but it hasn’t and it’s stayed lower or gone to the side? Mad

  11. Was just talking about how terrible that free kick was as a final chance in the game to equalise.

Clearly, I do not know Leeds.

I’ve watched it back several times now and I’ve still no idea how the fuck that’s happened

I hate both but that was a fitting ending.

Prime Andy Gray, “Ya just doon’t save thoooose!!!”

Incredible from Browne looking forward and seeing firpo coming in a angle that would cause the ball to hit the divot at that angle, also great show of experience realising eh was shooting against meslier

  15. Such a good team performance to be ruined by that. Fucking depressed. I thought Mes had had a good game too.

  16. Fucking awful. Only thing I can think is that head knock earlier made him see double and he went for the wrong one (i dunno)

  17. InnocentPossum on

Apparently that goal has gone down as an OG to Firpo now. Mad that he has to take that hit to his career stats

I can’t understand why Leeds have stuck with Meslier for so long. He’s such a crap keeper and he’s been crap for a long time. How can a club try to get promoted or stay in the prem with a keeper that isn’t even Championship quality.

  19. Leeds commentary was commenting on Sunderland fans leaving so early because they never know what might happen.

    How right the commentators were.

What do Leeds fans think of Aarenson?

I’m curious cos he seems like a busy player but does nothing apart from get in teamates’ way with his enthusiasm.

  21. I mean I’m never going to feel bad about a last-minute result but good lord… I’d be fucking furious if I were a Leeds fan. That’s one of the biggest goalkeeping howlers I’ve ever seen. Certainly the worst I’ve seen in person.
