  1. Infinitely better than Leeds. Easily best performance of the season. Haji looked confident, he feeds off the crowd really, great stuff all round. A great clean sheet too which really helps.

As for Blackburn, just weren’t their day. On another day it ends in a 2-2 draw and it’s a solid point for us. However they are poor in the final third and defensive mistakes cost them.

Would’ve loved to see Fadz gets 5 mins or so 🩵🩵

We still fluff too many chances in front of goal, and both teams had some absolute comedy defensive errors, especially in the first half.

Blackburn just never really woke up. It felt like they were channelling us from Saturday against Leeds, and that’s not a place you ever want to see a team (unless it’s Leicester or the Vile). Even their four subs made a the same time seemed to make very little difference at all. Strange to see.

Very glad Wright has opened his account for the season. His confidence seems to have taken a dent with many missed chances lately, so here’s hoping that’s behind him now. Is this our season officially starting? I dunno. A more clinical opposition would’ve put at least two goals back, and maybe more. Our defence still looks suspect. Clean sheet was a great plus but I’m not sure we’ll have many this season if things stay as they are. Hopefully if thems up front get better at hitting the target we won’t need to worry too much, but I’m sure some footballing legend or another said a good side starts with the defence. 😅

Well done Coventry, you took the absolute piss out of us tonight on the counterattack. Quite clearly frustrated our players to no end and feel a little embarrassed by several of the unnecessary lashing outs from them. Numerous yellows that could have been avoided.

I know we were trying to get something from it, but committing so many bodies forward with such a high line against pace (and skill) we clearly couldn’t deal with was a questionable one for me. It made the game very frustrating to watch in the end. Every time we lost the ball it felt like Coventry could score.

  4. I think we gave Blackburn the cheese touch or whatever the fuck we had against Leeds. Great opening game to start our Season let’s hope we continue it into Saturday!

A Burnley win / Blackburn lose game day is always a highlight. First of the year!

  6. We are like gladiators…. championship you will go on my 1st whistle, Coventry you will go on my 2nd whistle. Season starts now!

  7. I still have no idea what the Blackburn player was doing for our second goal. Dribbling down the wing like he forgot you had switched ends at HT 😂

  8. I don’t mean to alarm anyone but WE ARE SO BACK BABY!

Queue a soul destroying 8-0 loss on Saturday

Oddly, I still think it wasn’t our best performance technically. There’s stuff that needs work with our passing and silly errors to iron out *see comedic defending* We were helped by Blackburn channeling whatever the **EFF** we did at Elland Road.

Having said that, my god that was refreshing to watch! It was like watching Mark Robins’ Coventry City again, we looked like a team again! The lads looked like they wanted to be on the pitch, they wanted the ball and had a plan beyond “give it to someone else and pray the pass and touch is perfect as I don’t want to be at fault for the **EFF** ups”. The fight and anticipation for the second ball and beyond was there! It wasn’t perfect, but it was Robinsball for sure and that’s all we’ve wanted to see!

  10. It felt like last year’s meltdown. The early goal off the poorly defended set piece. The conceded goal from a sloppy turnover.

  11. Only seen the highlights but yeah we looked very poor and not the same as we have recently been at home. But it was bound to happen eventually and of course it happens against the biggest of rivals. Coventry away is never a happy place for us.
