  1. Berhalter definitely should go but that won’t fix the systemic dysfunction of US soccer. Ask yourself how many of these players have the quality to be in the starting 11 for any liga, epl, or bundesliga club. 1? 2? For those of us old enough to remember, 1994 was an embarrassing showing for a host nation, a World Cup the usmnt could never have qualified for. 2026 is looking to be an unmitigated disaster. If Berhalter is still at the helm and with this same group of players they will surely get grouped. When you’re the “world stage” but you’re not worthy of being ON the “world stage”…😮

  2. Great video and great idea to have done a "20 worst" list. Also, thanks for sharing what you're hearing about some of the initial deliberations inside USSF.

I'm still a little dumbfounded that they need this debriefing period. Clear expectations should have been on the table already, with consequences simply being triggered after this Copa fiasco. In my opinion, all this does is demonstrate to whoever the next guy is that they'll be given an extremely long leash. I'd rather they would have immediately fired GGG to not only start the process of moving forward, but to also send a clear message that accountability after having fallen so short doesn't require deliberation. In all honesty, it's making me a little worried that they'll do what you alluded to: wait out the storm and keep GGG.

One other comment. I have a theory about why Pulisic takes all the set pieces, and I think it ties back to some of the flaws at USSF and with GGG. I think they collectively are trying to make him the #1 record holder for goal contributions with the USMNT (they similarly love parading around "records" by GGG having been first to certain win thresholds, or win % metrics). By allowing him to be the dedicated set piece taker, he's going to rack up a fair amount of assists he otherwise wouldn't get. They know he's the most marketable player on the team, and I think it's more of a strategy to drive that marketing as opposed to letting the decision be merit based. Ironically, assuming a continuation of his current trajectory and staying generally healthy, he's going to likely retire as the #1 goal contributor even without this sort of nudge. So to me it's more shortsightedness by the organization, trying to capitalize on an image instead of sustainably building up more of the team in a way that fits their collective strengths.

  3. Did you get some good barbecue in KC?

The fact that people are yelling at each other in the US Soccer boardroom means there are at least SOME people there that get it.

Why is someone on our "leadership council" losing his head and clocking someone in the head? Seems like all it takes to be considered a leader is loyalty to Gregg.

Happy for Callaghan jumping ship before the chaos of change starts swirling for awhile.

On Gio's walking during training incident… he had far more consequences for that than Dest or Weah had for stupid redcards.

That's the last of my thoughts, I'm off to watch Care Bears.

  4. Reminded people to keep the pressure up on USMNT Reddit… I got several people mocking me because they seemed to think I was trying to speak directly to US Soccer. Some people aren't so bright.
As for Twitter, I gave up on last year. A very good choice for my mental health.

  5. I don't care that the Uruguay goal was offside… we deserved to be grouped this tournament. An absolute embarrassment.

  6. Just fire him and finish the negotiations later. Get the owners of MLS to kick in 100k because it is in their interest! We have one shot as host for the next 20 years or more in 2026. Go all in and hire the best man manager your money can buy who is motivated to take this squad as far as possible through fear and hard work.
You know what none of these pundits have brought up? That Uruguay knew that Balagon was hot and alone up front so they physically beat him to the point that he couldn’t get through the 40th minute. Now that’s strategic management!

  7. If Matt Crocker is the main voice that wants to keep Berhalter, then the board should get rid of them both. Pounding the table to keep Berhalter at this point is a fireable offense in and of itself.

  8. The problems at U.S. Soccer go well beyond the USMNT. All of the regional board members are the highly paid directors of pay-to-play youth soccer clubs. The unwillingness to try to force MLS to change in order to increase its relevancy. They are married to an NFL business model which does nothing to grow the sport.

  9. One thing, portraying Geo Reyna as a guy who makes a difference, this is wrong. Reyna is not a very good player as evidenced by his inability to see the field club play. Also, Pulisic has said he does not like taking the set pieces. Despite that, he's been doing a fair job, he did beat the best keeper in the world on a set piece.

  10. Amongst many things youve pointed out, thank you for highlighting Gregg changing the shape and going to 3 in the back after the Weah red card against Panama. I was bitching about this when i saw him make those changes. We continued to apply pressure even after Weah got sent off and scored. There was no reason to go that defensive, particularly when Gregg's entire philosophy revolves around a 4-3-3. Not to much, carter Vickers, Gregg's sub, not marking up is what led to Panama's goal.

  11. Great job!! I've boycotted this fraud org since before you started on youtube. Look at the executives length of service and you instantly get it! This is a meal ticket, A cash cow being ripped off by its executives! Paying themselves, ripping off the public. Selling seats to rivals, when Americans would have gone, but no $$$ is the goal, not promoting US soccer, rather our opponents! us now home field advantage for our opponents, need I say more? You drink it. Pro soccer is true its great accountability rules. National teams are a huge negative, no one wins but $$$ is exchanged, gambling mobsters.

  12. I'd cancel national team soccer. 1) it ain't football, the nfl, is. 2) nationalism leads to mass murder, 3) the play is schitt! Its a huge injury risk, there's no time to gel, the level of play is not worth watching. 4) vAR is a fraud easily manipulated and overall fields, refs, are inconsistent, but they always affect the result. Good luck selling beautiful game! Its ugly cheap shots, mob gambling cartel refs, A total fraud.

  14. When all of the dust settles on this situation, somebody needs to make a documentary about this. You can’t make up this level of corruption and then trying to backtrack everything.

  15. I did enjoy the way we played against Brazil after that Columbia spanking but I think we need to keep where this Brazil team is right now in perspective, I mean Costa Rica did the same thing a week later. ALSO this "leadership counsel" is more like a zero accountability group, pulisic (doesn't speak up about poor performances and won't call out other teammates behavior), Mckennie( comes in out of shape, overweight and has a terrible tournament), Weah (do I Even need to say…) Burhalter put these guys in a group above the rest of the locker room in players and let them act and do whatever they want, I just hope that the players can get past the horrible mentality their past coach instilled in them and can start building a chemistry we can see on the pitch
