Fiorentina to block Manchester United’s transfer move for Nikola Milenkovic. Fiorentina have told Manchester United there is zero chance Nikola Milenkovic will be sold in the January transfer window, according to reports.

United were plotting to make a bid for the defender this month, which might have included midfielder Andreas Pereira as part of the deal.

The Red Devils have been keeping tabs on Milenkovic for several months as the defender can play at centre-back or full-back.

But the Mirror claim Fiorentina will reject any and all offers for Milenkovic.

However, the Italian side are open to bids in the summer and have set an asking price of £50million.

At just 21, Milenkovic is being earmarked as a potential successor to the 33-year-old Ashley Young or the solution to United’s centre-back problems.

United are unlikely to make any major signings in January, but are ready to spend money if the right player becomes available.

It is still unclear who will be at the helm for United come the end of the season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in temporary charge as caretaker manager.

United want Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager, but Solskjaer hopes to stake his claim for the job during his tenure.
