Worst red card decision I’ve ever seen’ – Arsenal fans fuming as Declan Rice is sent off in bizarre circumstances against Brighton, ruling him out of north London derby against Tottenham
Arsenal fans could not believe what they were seeing as Declan Rice was shown a red card against Brighton after appearing to be kicked.
Rice was given his marching orders by referee Chris Kavanagh shortly after half-time at the Emirates Stadium. He was penalised for fouling Joel Veltman but then stepped across the Brighton defender and got whacked by a swinging leg. Fans inside the stadium were chanting ‘off, off, off’, hoping to see punishment dished out to Veltman. But Rice received a second yellow card, seemingly for having subtly knocked the ball away as Veltman tried to take the free-kick.

Second yellow for deliberately kicking ball away. Followed by Red so right decision.
The only 'shocking' thing is that Rice who was already on a Yellow decided to unnecessarily commit a Yellow card offence.

I’m an arsenal fan and I think it’s soft but nothing to argue with. It’s the rules and rice knew he was on a booking. Ref COOULD and SHOULD have used common sense but yes of the law it’s the right call. Rice was stupid

He was shown a yellow card for the kicking the ball away offence, and as it was his second yellow hence the red. This video is misleading in branding and content. Bah.
football rule is clear you better tackle someone hard than silly mistake like that, you never know where that quick free kick would have go, so that simple touch denied Brighton something
You know it's disingenuous when the title says "shocking red card". It was a second yellow card, and your boy Declan Rice earned it.
The chef's kiss is that Rice thought he was getting the Brighton player sent off, only to embarrass himself and cost Arsenal two points.

This performance is not a champion.. Arsenal and Brighton are on the same level.. Martinelli and Trossard cannot improve any further.. Arsenal is still inferior to Liverpool and City in terms of level..Declan Rice is short IQ..I think That This season Arsenal will finish 4th or 5th..this match look clearly level of Arsenal..the same Brighton.

Not controversial he was on thin ice and in my opinion he should have been given red earlier in the match.

It is a red end of, engineered red sure but hey you have to be smart. All players are trying to get others sent off.
