Back in May 2022, Kylian Mbappé talked about the upcoming World Cup. And his take on “the level of South American football” wasn’t appreciated. Now, the World Cup Final puts The Blues’ star man face to face with the very same players who found his comments insulting. Will he prove his point or eat his words?

  1. As a football fan, i see joy in south americans playing football. Europeans tackled this joy with their tactics but still south americans will always perform better under those tactics.

  2. This is why Mbappe will never get the respect and admiration from the people. Even if he becomes the best player in the history and breaks all the records and wins all the trophies.. People won't remember him as a legend. He will always be: ''He was a great player but…''

He's too spoiled, arrogant and his head is in the clouds. He doesn't realize how lucky he is that France has a big budget for football. It's not that the football is more advanced, it's just there are more investors and rich people doing business. French people are known to take trivial things very seriously, like art and football. While the people in South America are struggling for money, the French people are swimming in money.

Besides, football was created in South America in ancient times, in the period when Aztecs and Mayans lived. Only later did the English people adopted and changed it. But without South America we would not have football today. The best players in the history of football come from South America.

The only reason why Mbappe is considered the best player today is because he has no competition besides Haaland, football is not the same as it was. If Mbappe played in the early 2000's he wouldn't even be in top 20. He wouldn't be worth €500 million like today, there was no inflation back then and players used to worth less, he would probably still play in Monaco or some other lower club.

Also, this is not the first time Mbappe talked about other nationalities. There's a video of young Mbappe talking how Africans and Arabs are the best players in the world and better than everyone. I think he's dwelling too much into nationalities and countries. Deep down he's racist and nationalist.

  3. I really dont understand whats wrong about what he says … he never said that south american players are bad … well for me they are actually the best in the world according to data …but who is the south american player who choose to play in south america football ? Who are the top dogs in South America ? Brasil and Argentina ! just need to look at Fifa top 10 rank to understand there are 2 out of 10 South America national teams … the Rest is european … If you are a top dog in Euro you have to beat 7 Top Dogs to be champion …. when you Play Copa America and you are a Top dog you have to beat the 1 top dog left . Im not Saying Uruguay or even Mexico arent good teams … Lets Say France is the European Brasil , and Germany the European Argentina , while in South America you have as runner ups national teams like Mexico and Uruguay , in Europe you have runner ups like Spain , Portugal , Italy , England , Belgium etc etc so instead of feeling hurted by what he said you should to use your head to understand thats not disrespect towards South America … is just facts

  4. If he is comparing domestic leagues than yes, nothing controversial about it. Or does anyone the the Brazilian league or Argentinean one are close to the Prem or La Liga? He is clearly talking about club football.
