Nico williams was for the fans, but olmo was for hansi. A lot of people thought barca would continue playing 4-3-3 with balls down the wing because that is how we have played for so long.
But hansi is much different. He is loves high pressing but also playing through the middle. Its why hansi looked at the academy with players like Bernal who have been playing the la Masia way. They are perfect for a strong pressing heavy central possession team.
The only reason they considered nico Williams was because we needed a good winger but also because he is a fan favorite. But that was before raphina began stepping up and started reaching his potential.
Who has ever read or listened to his interviews knows that Olmo is not only intelligent and empathetic as a footballer, but also as a human being. These are the type of leadership qualities that set him apart from the majority, who are mostly just athletes.

Dani Olmo has had 2 great games to start the season and I am excited to see how he plays the rest of the year. That being said, he has played only 2 games.
