The decisions made by both Jack Grealish and Declan Rice were analysed in the debate.

  1. I think the rules as they stand are fine. If it is a friendly then you can still play for another country but if you play an official match then it's done. Sensible and no need for change.

  2. None of this debate relates in any way to these 2 players, as Ireland never dropped them, they left, so I'm not sure why they are debating this scenario for the whole video…even to the point of French Wives!!

  3. Ryan Giggs was an England Schoolboy.
So in accordance to the collective tantrum that the Irish are having over Rice and Grealish we should scream and shout and call Giggs a traitor. After all, he for declared his allegiance to the Welsh dragon after wearing the Three LionsšŸ‰

  4. You don’t choose nationality… you are what you are… you can come from different backgrounds through family. But that person will identify with 1 of those nations more… I think all players should have to identify their nation when they sign their first pro contract. That’s your country. You shouldn’t be able to see which suits you best and go I’m not Irish now I’m English. No you are what are you. Choose 1, that’s your 1 it doesn’t change. That decision should be made miles before they are selected so you know the decision is genuine.

  5. Agree with bent here, as an Irishman I have no issue with rice or grealish playing for England atall, grealish was only youth level so dosnt even matter, but for rice three senior caps and to only use us as a stepping stone is just ratty, he is English born and bread understood, but don’t come to us cause you think your not good enough and the second you are just leg it

  6. It used to be that you could only play for a country that you were born in or where your parents were from. The change to allow grandparents was unnecessary. Should just change it back so players like Rice and Grealish can't take caps and spots away from those Irish players.
