Thanks Jay. Didn’t know much about Tanaka. Really good insight into the player and what he’ll bring to Leeds. If this transfer goes through it will be an absolute bargain at €4m. Just the sort of player the team needs.

Terry Yorath (with whom our new Japanese player is being compared) was a very useful player for Leeds. Very hard working in midfield and scored a reasonable number of goals for essentially a DM. He was Welsh so would have integrated well into the current side. He was never a star player but made 120 appearances and scored ten goals.

Great interview, really cool to hear from Jay with some insider knowledge on Japanese football. Been very impressed with what their national team has done in previous tournaments, like the way they play, and think Ao will slot in nicely for Leeds. Will be epic to see the yellow Leeds shirt make its way to Japan! 🇯🇵
