I couldnt watch the game due to data being bad in the middle of scotland, a loss aint ideal but how did we play? Any bright sparks? đ

I went on twitter and saw a bunch of people shitting on Foord? I don’t get it, I thought she was one of the better players on the pitch. I am excited for Mariona but I don’t get why everyone seems to throw Foord under the bus because they are wanting to see her play.

First half was promising second half wasnât. If we werenât short on CBs I would say give Williamson a run out as 6 against teams that play like this. KCC doesnât provide enough defensive cover but Walti doesnât cause enough chaos to drag them out of formation. Williamson seems like a bit of an in between option.
Not super impressed with the midfield (which was better when Chelsea were more open in the first half). If most teams we play are beginning to play a block at some point, I would rather go with two 8s than continue the double pivot. Weâve got players comfortable in tight spaces who can do that

Watching Captain Kimmy being interviewed on DAZN. She mentioned the heat multiple times lol

Feel sorry for Russo having to chase for the whole game. 80 min last game, 90 minutes this game… We really miss Stina.
Feel like McCabe was our worst defender today, especially in terms of usual level.
From seeing another replay of the goal, it also looks like KĂźhl just forgot to mark the Chelsea player who ends up crossing it (and makes Leah have to move out). Also seems like Little wanted to let the ball go through to Manu until the Chelsea player looked like she would be able to get to the ball.Really unfortunate what happens after, but oh well.
Kafaji was great. More of that please. I also think Steph did well at CB.
Really hope we get to see our starting lineup for the CL quali next game for the first 45/60 minutes against Soton.

Not really surprised by the result,
Reid impressed again
Rosa and Caldenty are gonna be huge for us
KĂźhl is not a RW felt about bad for her

Frustration over the loss aside, I think there was plenty of positives.
Kafaji and Mariona already look like absolutely brilliant additions to the team and have created some great chances. Katie Reid is amazing and I’m absolutely thrilled she’s ours (wouldn’t mind her not going on a loan).
Little was uncharacteristically bad and I hope she got it out of her system today, KCC too. I’m not that concerned about our midfield yet.
Also, hopefully our CBs find their groove because that’s the part of the pitch that I have least confidence in at the moment. Shame Daphne wasn’t available for these friendlies, I would have loved to see her before the season starts.

No Fox kinda worries me. Saw a picture of her dressed before the game but after the game she was in warmups so hoping not injured for the sake of Arsenal and USWNT đ

Quick question… if this is our lineup for the first game of the season, who will be the scapegoat if it goes wrong?
Russo 9, Caldentey LW, Mead RW, Kafaji 10, Little & Wally 8/6, McCabe LB, Fox RB, Lotte & Leah CB and DvD in goal.
And yes, it will most likely be Manu in goal, but then we would already know who would get the blame, so please use this imaginary lineup for the answer and tell my why it would be some player (most likely Foord) who would get subbed on in the 80th minute?

It wasnât pretty but I honestly donât feel too bad about it. Chelsea took these two friendlies very seriously in terms of lineup (they also have a crazy bench though) and I wanted us to mainly focus on things to improve upon. We had some good chances that will hopefully turn into goals when they get more in form. Iâm glad the kids got to play and they all looked great. I wish Jonas wouldâve used subs better but I can also understand just letting it ride. Kafaji is a delight and hopefully we can get her, Russo, and Mariona cooking. We definitely had periods where we looked really threatening, especially at the end which is good.
As an American, I was really worried we see an admin tweet about DC being red if we won so Iâm a little happy I donât have to worry about that.

Considering Chelsea looked very sharp against Gotham, I was expecting they would be quite clean on the ball and making their usual one-two passes. We didnât look awful and had some nice sequences, but Iâd like to see more urgency and bravery from the team as a whole. Certain individuals seem to have it, but they have to drag everyone else with them. Like last season. That doesnât work so well.
Mentality will make or break this season IMO. If we settle for *good enough*, we wonât get very far. I want to see the girls embody the Mikel line: âWhen I lose a *doo-ell*, I am upset!!â đ

is it concerning our leaders on the pitch is not being brave and show character and fight it’s showing we lack the mentality and try not to lose as appose to try to go at them
