New Atletico Madrid signing Conor Gallagher was presented to fans at a noisy Estadio Metropolitano on Wednesday evening in an event to welcome the club’s new players.

Gallagher’s move from Chelsea was completed earlier in the day for a reported 36 million pounds ($47 million) on a five-year deal.

New signings from both the men’s and women’s teams were introduced to the crowd.

Gallagher’s was the penultimate player to walk on to the pitch and spoke a few words in Spanish.

Julian Alvarez, who joined from Manchester City last week and came off the bench to make his debut for Atletico in their opening 2-2 draw in La Liga at Villareal, was the last player out.

  1. Wow, when teams parade new signings in Spain they push the boat out. Must be a surreal experience but it creates a bond with the player and the fans from the start. Two great additions for Atletico Madrid.
