Gabriel Martinelli has a hunched dribbling style!

  1. The fact that he has the most dribbles this season is insane.
Especially knowing how unique his techinque is. Pretty sure he uses his peripheral vision when dribbling.
You could call it the Third eye technique.
His center vision is focused on the ball while he scouts his surroundings using his peripheral vision.
Martinelli is a very physical and pacey winger as well which makes him a true menace to deal with for any wingback.

  2. I mean he is a good pl player so obviously it's working for him lol .

Coaches can teach you all the "right" techniques but most top players in any sport usually have some non conventional method they perfected for themselves. This goes for any career tbh.

  3. That's how I've always done it with great success. When you can sense the players around you, there's no need to look at them directly. You keep your eyes on the ball and move past them.

  4. Its like a player called William Pottker, who have played on Sport Club Internacional. Pottker just run and run without see the team mates, a terrible ball control, loads of goals missed. Martinelli would be a Very good player, he is a skilled guy.

  5. I kind of do the same thing when I dribble (I know I'm not the same level as goatnelli) but I can see the movement of my opponents with my peripheral vision and I focus on their legs and hips while looking at the ball, and I already have a map of where everyone is from when I was looking up and receiving the ball. It's a dribbling style that only suits you if you prefer to dribble your way through rather than pass it.

  6. It's hard to believe that he came from the Brazilian fourth division, before getting moved STRAIGHT to Arsenal, the team that has a great shot of winning the title.
