Subs: Kelleher, Endo, Konate, Nunez, Jones, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Bradley.

Our Liverpool FC correspondent Paul Gorst and chief Liverpool FC Ian Doyle are at Portman Road to bring you all the pre-match build-up – including team news when it drops at the earlier time of 1.15pm – and then updates from the contest itself plus all the best post-game reaction and analysis.
Arne Slot got what Jurgen Klopp was missing
Diogo Jota can be so important to Arne Slot’s plans at Liverpool this season.

But only if he can be kept fit.

Ian Doyle writes: “For Jota himself, it was an early statement of intent in the battle to be the Reds’ chief striker this season, building on his excellent volley during the pre-season friendly win over Sevilla last weekend.

Cody Gakpo was limited to just a brief cameo as a late substitute while Darwin Nunez didn’t get that far, remaining on the bench. Keeping Jota fit, never the easiest task, will be crucial this term.

Already Slot is creating landmarks in the dugout, becoming the first Liverpool boss in the Premier League era to win his first game in charge, the last to do so being Graeme Souness way back in 1991.
Liverpool player ratings
Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota both did what they do best.

But today was all about Ryan Gravenberch. Arne Slot will have been delighted with his performance in the six.

Ian Doyle was impressed and here’s how he rated the players at Portman Road.
Mohamed Salah reaction
Mohamed Salah was named as TNT Sports’ man-of-the-match after he inspired Liverpool’s 2-0 opening day win at Ipswich Town.

Salah set up Diogo Jota to break the deadlock and then got in on the act himself.

The goal was a particularly special one as it moved the Egyptian King above Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer in the history books.

It was Salah’s ninth goal on the opening weekend of a Premier League season, taking him above his fellow legends, who all finished their careers on eight.
