  1. I love how this comment section listens more to the presenter but not to the experienced player/pundit

just listen to Herc, "I think he tried to protect the player"

  2. Reyna was bad when he subbed in vs Netherlands tbh
just listen to Herc for once………………..
I usually find myself disagreeing with him but at least he makes some footballing sense

  3. Why would you tell a 19 year old player that their time in their first world cup will be limited? You can set that expectation on a veteran who might be pass his prime, but definitely not to a young ambitious adult.

  4. Gio betrayed the trust of his teammates for a bad day of practice after getting "not playing much at all" news from GGG? Betrayal? Really Herc – you sad sack.

  5. Berhalter has gotta go, the players are not going to trust him after this. Bad call on sitting GR. 3rd best prospect in the WC and he sat. Wasted our opportunity.

  6. It's not about starting Reyna, but to tell him he will have a very small roll in the World Cup. Was it about starting, being a sub, or having a very small roll (Meaning clean up minutes)?

  7. Gio missed the greater part of the last 2 seasons with Dortmund. He only played in a couple of matches this season and was really underwhelming with his performance.

  8. Gio could have easily started over Musah or McKennie. Mckennie coming off injury hadn't played one meaningful minute and Musah just as young with far less experience. Gio was fine with Dortmund before camp.

  9. Guys you're splitting hairs. I have one thought for you. Who on earth tells one of your BEST players, one of your biggest game changers they're not going to get much or any playtime in the coming tournament especially before hand??? Did ya think this was going to motivate him? And then to treat him like a toddler, "Johnny tell your classmates you're sorry and why". FROM BAD TO WORSE! Then to even have the thought to send him home??? Real smart! What would have happened if Pulisic or Weah were injured? Let me guess, Morris or Roldan? Two men that shouldn't have even been on the roster. Oh and by the way I like both those guys but they took up roster spots that could have made a difference for us.

  10. You get your best players in, period. GGG should have figured out a system/formation that he could get significant minutes. The strikers were a waste of game time for the most part. Telling Gio he’d have a limited roll before the cup was a HUGE mistake, especially since you don’t know if you’ll have an injury/game issue that he becomes indispensable. GGG must go.

  11. Short-term, not a great look for Reyna; however, long-term, I think and hope this means Berhalter is gone. Almost like going scorched Earth to try to save/explain his decisions.

  12. I don't condone his actions, but how can he let his team down if he is told he is not going to play? Did Berhalter expected him to be a cheerleader from the bench?
I think it was wrong for Berhalter tell him he is not going to play much, he could have easily not say anything, and bring him into the game at minute 65 of each game. Problem solved.

  13. I really don't understand why this anti-american mexican guy is in this sports program with his negativity about supporting or praising negative drama towards US mens national team and trying to look and feel good about himself on national tv.

  14. I just hope after this mess Gio Reyna will become a better professional soccer player and a mature and better person by the time the world cup 2026 gets there so that way he can prove not only himself but the rest of the world that he is hungry when his opportunity arrives at that moment. Gio, just get better with your talent, prove everybody wrong the right way in a humble respectful manner and because at the end of the day you have honest people who truly support you.

  15. GB is a joke. His Columbus teams never accomplished anything, and talk about boring soccer. 2 months ago GB said Tim Ream wasn't fast enough to contribute and played too deep in the defensive third. Suddenly he's on the team and played every minute and was the undisputed leader in the back. GB flies by the seat of his pants and cannot stand anyone criticizing or questioning his power/decisions. As the most talented player on the squad, I'm sure Gio didn't react to the news GB gave him so GB decided to show him who's boss (just like any immature moron would). IMP it cost us a win in the Wales game and perhaps a win in the England game. Gimme a break…he's only one of the better players on one of the better teams in the best league in Germany. Remember when he said Pulisic might not start b/c his game doesn't fit in with the strategy he was implementing? If GB didn't have family in US Soccer leadership he would never have gotten the job. I'd take Tab Ramos over GB ANYDAY! He's a good coach with a fun to watch attacking style. Fire GB!!!!!!!!

  16. According to multiple reports, Reyna showed a shocking lack of effort in training and in a pre-tournament scrimmage against a Qatari club. He was described as walking around throughout his time on the field in what was supposed to be an intense session and was later confronted by some veteran players.

  17. Berhalter has a long track record of lying/bending the truth. Sending a player home in the middle of the world cup? What did Gio do? Pull out a gun during practice?
