Manchester United are once again in the market for a defensive midfielder. It looks all but guaranteed that Casemiro’s on his way out of the club, at the very least he’s not able to do it in the 6 anymore for us. There’s no doubt that we need to replace him. The reports are suggesting that the pursuit for Manuel Ugarte is over. We can’t dwell on it, it’s time to pick out some new potential candidates for the role. In an ideal world, we need a young DM with the ability to lock the position down for many years to come. It’s a lot to ask, but there are plenty of options out there. Comparing Sander berge to Scott is just lazy. They are two completely different type of players. Technically and Football IQ Scott couldn’t tie his shoes, and the Scott cannot play the single pivot what so ever, he hides from the ball and a brilliant box crasher.
I’ve watched a lot of sander berge, and i can confidently say if United sign him. He can never be more than a 3 or 4th choice midfielder. He is slow, and not cut out for high intensity games.
If United signed him for 15M or less, id say, fair enough. Better squad options. But he isn’t better than amrabat at all.

Sander Berge is the only viable option and risk free investment, he's probably the poor man's Rodri in style of play. Fofana might be another Bakoyoko and Andre like most Brazillians might be purely hype and would probably be another Antony. Andreas Pereira is getting more games for Brazil than Andre and that should tell you a lot. i mean if we're looking for a destroyer Joao Gomes could be looked at.

I think the berge mctominay comparisons are somewhat off the mark. To me the only similarity is that they have both been played in the wrong position for most of their career. Mctominay clearly is a box crashing number 10 who’s spent most of his career playing as a six. Berge on the other hand is a 6 who has spent a lot of his career playing a bit further up the pitch particularly at Sheffield United. The major area they are completely different is that berge is very strong in mctominays weakest area. Maintaining possession. Very rarely dispossessed, very few miscontrols and high pass completion. Mctominay is terrible at all these things

Buying Wharton would hinder the development of Collyer. We need an experienced no 6, nothing splashy price wise; ie at a price we can perhaps get a decent profit later when Collyer (hopefully) becomes good enough to start regularly
Andrade is intriguing prospect if only his price is not ridiculous. Except that Brazilian hasn’t flourished at Utd. His height is not an issue Ste. Neves is also roughly the same height as Andrade.
