Kasey is missing the point. You spend money on the best you can get. Emma Hayes for the USWNT. A proven international winner or a proven club winner so good you can ignore international inexperience for the men. ANYTHING ELSE IS IRRELEVANT. Kasey making points to ignore. If we truly think that this group of players is the team to make a run into semifinals then spend the money. I think we all need to step back and look at the goals scored player by player in what leagues and what times and have an honest sit down and say X Y Z player are not getting the results in their clubs or in big moments are they the right fit for this team? If we can sit down player by player and 100% say yes all 11 guys plus our subs are good enough as is to make the semifinals then spend the money. If not then hire an MLS guy but know this if you hire an MLS guy and he bombs out on home soil that coach may not coach again and may possibly set back the USSF for 10+ years.
