  1. The irony that US players are in France where kids pay nothing to play in elite travel teams and academies. You can see the difference because France are another league in terms of talent to compared to the US because their development system is about finding the best players, not the richest parents. Look at the France world cup team if those players had grown up in the USA nearly all of them would have been to poor to get into the US development system due to pay to play. The USA, Australia and Canada are the only countries in the world with the pay to play systems and the teams have got worse because of it. I remember when Beckham tried to introduce a pay to play academy in England. It closed down after 4 years because the price meant only crap players with rich parents joined the academy and the top talent from poorer families stayed with the free elite club academies. And the aim of the academy was to sell players into clubs to make money. But when your academy is just rich white kids who are crap at soccer looking to meet David Beckham no professional club wants them. The US development system is like that nationwide lol.
