      Sorry but people are so stupid to compare Rodri, the best defensive midfielder on the planet who has unbelievable technical ability and isn’t scared to make line breaking passes under pressure, to a overhyped English tax merchant who only knows how to pass the ball backwards and who’s a glorified Harry winks. Rodri should be compared to proper midfielders who can do the basics of being a midfielder which is passing the ball forward under pressure, like Thomas Partey.

      I am hearing Rodri after the Euroe, while the whole of the year people were saying: "Vini will win it". Vini's team beat Pep and Rodri's team. He was a big part why they won La Liga and the Champions league. Now all of a sudden Rodri should win because commentators found he is a masterclass player?

      If a Spanish player was to win the Balon D'or then no one deserve it more than Carvajal. Also Rodri wasn't even the best player in that Spanish side heck he wasn't even the best in the midfield, Fabian Ruiz was. But of course PR.

      The Rodri Campaign is amazing .. Dont even know how he got Player of the Tournament ahead of Lamine and Nico.. and Simon for that matter.. The best player last season was Vini plane ans simple .. the Champions League trophy is the Most coveted Trophy in Football and Vini Jr. Contrubuted to Benzema's win the previous year .. This is the same kind of campaign and pundit jealousy that result in Thiery Henry and Drogba never winning the Balon D'Oro .. For me the reason is obvious..
      Love him or hate him he is the most beautiful, creative forward in Soccer right now.. and Oh by the way Soccer is referred to as the Beautiful game.. Vini Jr deserves the Balon' D'Oro Rodri might be in the top 5..

      I honestly feel Rodri deserves the PR because it’s warranted. What was so fascinating is when he won the euro player of the tournament (whether you he should or shouldn’t have won) the spanish players “bowed” out of respect, because they genuinely appreciate it him in his country. In England he already knows he will not be given any individual awards but the spanish players and the federation know that this player is the best player in the world but people will actually never appreciate him just like how “Busquets” was only appreciated in the latter stages of his career and was never mentioned as the best midfielder in the world outside of DM, just midfielder. The “quaterback” in American football mostly dictates the game and gets rewarded, but in football that will never be the case

      Rodri probably knows he won’t win it, because of him, his personality and his position but it would be so well deserved and breathe of fresh air to give a player that actually is important to the game of football. I think that is a narrative alright.
